A depression case

A woman in her late forties with severe depression had come for a counseling. Married early, her children were already in universities, and she was living an affluent lifestyle with no apparent struggles; however, she was suffering from depression. Although she was taking antidepressant drugs, many days and nights she stayed up all night staring at the void. Whenever she drove on the bridge, she was afraid that she might drive into the water, and subsequently she soon stopped driving her car. One day, she asked for help from me. I told her that I was not a psychiatrist, and asked her how and why she came to me for help. She replied that she found my video on YouTube talking about calcium’s role in controlling brain hormones. I asked her to take AIC calcium, and the next day she called me excited, thanking me that she slept very well had refreshed feeling which she did not have for a long time. She was on her way to recovery.
