This session reported on three recent studies on Anti-orbital Ionic Calcium (AIC), a novel form of ionic calcium supplementation, including a large retrospective case series in adults with osteoporosis and osteopenia, an animal study evaluating AIC in an animal model of multiple myeloma, and an in vitro study evaluating mechanisms of AIC.

CBHI introduced AIC at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research under the title Calcium Signaling for Bone and Systemic Repair. The presentation set out how AIC Calcium is produced — a calcium carbonate manufactured through a distinct process from natural Canadian small oyster shells — and the bone mineral density findings reported for it at an intake of 2.5 mg per day.
Dr. Paul K. Lee attended the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in Chicago. CBHI's work on AIC® calcium in multiple myeloma drew interest from researchers he met there. The underlying study is a collaboration with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), with Donghoon Yoon, PhD of UAMS and Dr. Lee of CBHI as investigators.

Ryan Bradley, ND, MPH — a naturopathic doctor, clinical researcher, industry consultant and educator working at the intersection of public health, health care and integrative medicine — gave a talk titled They're not just in your bones: roles of calcitonin and osteocalcin in systemic ionic calcium balance and signaling. The presentation looked at how these two hormones act beyond the skeleton in systemic ionic calcium balance and signalling.

In this lecture, Dr. Jimenez presented the importance of optimizing ionic calcium utilization in integrative approaches to cancer and chronic diseases. Proper ionic calcium levels help awaken immune responses around tumors, break the acid cycle of cancer and reactivate the function of the antitumor p53 gene. Approaches to overcome chronically impaired ionic calcium levels were discussed.
